I don't really know where you are going with it ... but do NOT buy
the obvious. Never buy the obvious for any woman. Chances are, she
will get the same thing from everyone.
My poor daughter bought a stuffed pig because she thought that *it*
was so cute. She got an onslaught of pig stuff at Christmas and on
her birthday. The same thing happens the minute someone gets their
ears pierced. Earrings up the wazoo!!!
If you have the money, take her to a really romantic restaurant and
splurge ...
If you do not have the money, take her on a romantic picnic. It can
be outside, weather permitting. If not, take it indoors. All you need
are some food, a bottle of wine or whatever, some cheese, some summer
sausage or something similar, some crackers or bread... some nifty
cookies ... put it all in a basket ... borrow one if you dont have
one ... or use a box with a table cloth lining it... use your
imagination. (a small bouquet of wild flowers or a couple daisies is
a nice touch ... huge bouquets of roses are overdone)
My new son-in-law pays close attention when he and my daughter go to
the malls. He watches what she lingers over or picks up and puts
back. He even remembered that she said she wished that she had a
pitch fork ... it would make doing the bulb digging SO much easier. A
stupid gift? My daughter didnt think so. It was not, of course, the
only gift. He also gave her gifts, one at a time, throughout the day.
He started by cooking breakfast.
Hope some of this gives you your own ideas.
Doreen
