College nicknames

Color me clueless.  I always call it just plain Berkeley.  I guess in 
college football, it's Cal.

You do need to know these things--logic means nothing.  The University 
of Vermont is UVM even though the state abbreviation is VT; the 
University of Washington (NOT to be confused with Washington 
University or George Washington University) is "U-dub"; there are 
a zillion University of Wisconsin-s but the only one that gets 
called that is the one at Madison; etc.
