I have no problem just *not* cleaning up if I feel I've been cleaning
everything. I'm damned stubborn, too and can watch the dishes pile up
without getting impatient. If Raul has been extra lazy helping
(co-cleaning, Amy?) around the apt, I sure as hell won't be picking up
the slack. Eventually we both both get frustrated, talk about it and
clean together. Most of the time, though, Raul is equally lazy about
cleaning, so I can't complain. He always does the laundry, too, and
he cleaned out the cupboards when we had a little cockroach problem
(it was truly disgusting and I told his "Hell, no! I am *not* doing
that!"). Somehow, our apt has managed to stay clean enough for the
both of us.
I like what Amy said about compromising when it comes to cleaning and
organzing. I have come to realize that as long as I can reach it, it
doesn't matter where on the shelf it goes.
I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that we do not have
children (our cat is spoiled rotten, though) and we do both work. If
one of us was home most of the time, the cleaning would definitely
fall on that person's shoulders. If we had a baby, I just don't know
what would happen. I think I'd like for Raul to be the one to give
birth. :-)
