Publication Delay

Yes, it's Sunday and I'm responding to something Dave wrote last
Tuesday, but I've been busy getting the first chapter of the
Triangle Prophecy reading and haven't checked the OT list in a very
long time...

This got me thinking--WHICH GoF plot hole? I can think of several
(not that they interfered with my enjoyment of the book--it's my
favorite so far) so I'm curious which one you meant here.

The "plausible reason," as all H/H people will tell you, is that It
Has Been Destined From The Dawn Of Time. <eg> One can, of course
substitute the name "Ginny" for "Hermione" and then the It Has Been
Destined From The Dawn Of Time argument works for the H/G folks too.
<vbeg> Then you can substitute the name "Draco" for "Ginny" and--
well, you get the idea....

I plan to use this excuse the next time I miss a fanfic deadline
I've set for myself. ;)

LOL! So, are we to blame poor Jessica for the Uranus joke? Here
all along I've pictured poor Jessica covering her face in
embarassment at book readings if this passage is selected....

I don't think that's what was meant by a "hard death" to write.
(That the character literally won't die and others around him keep
getting it instead.) After all, if she's really having a hard time
killing Hagrid, Cindy could probably offer several efficient ways of
offing him. (Waves at Cindy-I'll-Never-Join-Your-Damn-Hagrid-Fan-

No, no, it's excellent. I should remember that for the fic I'm
writing...

God forbid. I hope she stays far away from fanfic until the entire
series is over. Many of us are putting our speculation about stuff
into prose, and we can hardly seem prescient if she goes and changes
everything to avoid writing the same things the fanfic community is
producing!

This, obviously, is the real reason for the delay. ;)
