I dunno. Normally I pride myself in being able to coolly resist anyone and
everyone, regardless of who's slavering over them. I was prepared to
strongly dislike Viggo, based only on the raves I saw on this list.
But...something happened...he's just such a heck of a good guy!
Incidentally, I think it's Aragorn I like, not Viggo--as I saw some
smooth-faced pictures of the V-man and was unimpressed, though that's
usually how I like 'em.
Another point--it wasn't until the fight up on top of the rocky hill, where
Frodo was injured, that I thought of Aragorn as hot. Another blow to my
independent feminism--it was his fighting scene that attracted me! Overdose
of testosterone, I must rationalize...OK, it was..um, er--he was protecting
the hobbits. Yeah, he was showing his caring side. That was it.
I too was (am) a Trekkie, but concerned myself more with the characters (the
original series having a sad lack of decent plots) than the attractiveness
of them. (Was stunned to realize that many people found Spock attractive.
Somewhat like finding that out about Snape. Huh?) However, for those who
like a bit of hottie with their storyline, I highly recommend Babylon 5.
Capt. John Sheridan with his white shirt...oh yeah.
Perhaps it's recent world events, but I am taking more comfort than ever in
fantasy/sf/fiction/writing/reading/imaginary worlds/virtual friends, to give
me the courage to face reality. I've been reading HP since March 2000, but
never gave any thought to attractiveness of characters until lately. Of
course, perhaps it's the influence of this list...
Also, as my idea of what is attractive changes as I mature, and I've finally
decided it's OK to have hormones (having been raised by a cave troll who
thought I was a slut I've always been a bit unsure on that issue :) ),
apparently they just overreacted a bit in this case.
Everybody just ignore the hormones if they are causing a problem...
