I've been totally disappointed, too. The various trinkets and figurines were so
ugly, I wasn't even tempted. Oh, well, better for my budget's sake.

Gryffindor (or any house) scarves and gloves. . . .Seeds for a wizard's garden
(Aconite and other actual plants) . . . Lots and lots of woolen socks, including
Dobby colors. . . McGonagall's emerald robes.
My handy niece is making a tidy fortune churning out witch and wizard hats for
all and sundry. She works with a middle-school theater group, and I think that
pretty soon every kid in the school will have bought one.

Warner Bros. store did have nice-looking snitches with key chains on (mine's
hanging on the fridge) but they didn't fly.

All those suggestions were absolutely wonderful (except the live owl). I think
Bloomsbury and AOLTimeWarner seriously underestimated the market for
good-quality well-designed adult stuff. They've gotten less than $50 out of me
(including t-shirts we got for $5 when the WB store was closing) whereas we
would've spent quite a bit on Dobby socks, Hogwarts patches to put on our
bathrobes, or such. It seems as though WB has a basic list of items (notebooks
etc.) that they just plaster with the latest logo and that's that.
