My brother made the mistake of giving this to my son. His son is 23
now, so I guess he's out of touch with 9-year-olds, but boys this
age do NOT want to get shampoo for a gift, even with Harry Potter's
picture on it.

Now THAT would be great. Except, of course, you really wouldn't
know or be able to see what's inside the wands.

Someone already mentioned the problems with this. Unfortunately,
there's no such thing as "real" post owls.

Another person mentioned pewter melting too easily. Isn't this why
Neville keeps going through cauldrons?

Er, liability nightmare. Decent in-house counsel would never let a
company produce this. (Not if they moved as fast as it's depicted
in the film.)

I've seen a couple of really cheesy-looking versions. Nothing good
so far.

Perhaps Burpee should put together a package?

Easy--just don't match up your socks. <g> This is a term we use
around our house now for mismatched socks: Dobby socks! Plus, my
husband is terrible about losing gloves, and come the cold weather,
we have to go through the large wicker basket of hats, scarves and
gloves we keep by the front door to find an actual pair for him to
wear (he especially tends to lose his right gloves). This time, we
found him a left glove that was green and a right glove that was
black, so that's what he's using at the moment. He held out his
hands to our daughter to show her what he was wearing, and she
immediately responded, "Daddy! You have Dobby gloves!"
