Sinead...I think I know what site you are talking about, and it's simply
horrid. I cannot look at it without being disturbed. I will not go
there. A friend once sent me a link claiming it was one thing and it
turned out to be another (he thought it would be funny to see my
reaction)...I couldn't get the image out of my head for hours.

Calvin is great!

I also have an over-active imagination. When I find that I can't get my
mind off of something, I force myself to read something else (I'm still
desperately trying to get Harry out of my head, because it's really
starting to become a detriment). I look at pictures of places and things
that soothe me. Give me a book on old castles or landscapes, or the
mountains, and I'll eventually starting thinking something else (my not
go to sleep...but at lest it's a different subject).

Music works...finding something nice and relaxing...Enya maybe?

Don't try to go to sleep. Many sleep doctors say that if you lay in bed
and are still not asleep after 20 minutes, to get up and do something.
Do you like to write? Maybe even write about what you thinking.
Sometimes writing about what it is that disturbs you can help. Transfer
it to the paper...out of your brain...

Is there a book that you've read before that you really enjoy? That
might help. There's no suspense/angst because you already know how it
turns out, and you can occupy your mind with it.

A soothing drink (not necessarily alcohol) might help. Hot tea? Hot
chocolate? I prefer a tall glass of cold milk (had it all the time
growing up, and am drawn to it when stressed).

Hang in there...perhaps turn a light on...won't make you feel so
isolated.

Take care
