Reading helps me. I have an over active imagination. Can't watch scary
stuff late at night. Can't read Lovecraft, Bloch, King, etc... too close
to bedtime. So, what to do about it...a huge dose of something you find
funny. I recommend Calvin and Hobbes or other comic books. Things you can
pick up and put down without having that other part of your brain - the one
that wants to know what happened next - keep you awake.

I know people who claim that TV is the ticket. TV mostly annoys me when
I'm tired. Happy music might work, too.

I feel for you. Been there. Done that way too many times. Kept the
husband awake with my nearsighted hallucinations of axe murderers,
monsters, weird stuff in the shadows and then there are the noises... Why
do houses make *those* noises only at 3AM?

My Rx is Calvin and Hobbes, hot cocoa and something to cuddle. (You may
substitute "someone" for "something".)

Catherine in California where it's only just past 7PM
