Melody Said:

>No, Barty Jr. is fascinating alive and with his soul only. But true,
>he is rather dull now. Kind of puts a damper on the dreams. Besides,
>what fun is a man if you can't argue with him?
>
>I just find Barty interesting for his mind alone. Maybe also his
>cuteness though he is described little in the books. *My* Barty is
>very cute. ;)

I Admit:

Okay, you got me there...Barty Jr. does deserve an Academy Award for his
role as Mad-Eye Moody. Even fooled good ol' Dumbledore. Fascinating, I
agree, but there's not much to go on as far as canon is concerned, I'm
afraid.

Kara Suggested:

>Oh, and in case someone doesn't find any of these men appealing...
>there's always Ludo Bagman! ;)

To Which I Respond:

Ludo? Well, he has that gambling problem...and he's in big trouble with the
goblins...kinda sounds like being in trouble with the mafia. Wouldn't want
to hang around a guy like that!

Kara Also Mentioned:

>Mad Eye Moody - A bit too nutters for me.

To Which Melody Agreed:

>Mad Eye Moody: Too damaged but is talented. I wouldn't stop staring
>at his nose though. And I would inevitably sit up all night worrying
>if he would be hexed or injured. Too exhausting.

And I Thoughtfully Say:

I could see myself hanging until late at night at the local pub with Moody,
listening to all his cool Auror stories...but you're right, Melody...I'd be
gawking at his nose, too. Ye gods! If his face is all messed up, I wonder
how the rest of his body looks like? Eeek! I think Moody should be skipped
as far as our "Men of Harry Potter" mag. is concerned :)>

Kara Then Said:

>Hagrid - He's a half giant... I'm 5'2".. hehe.

And I Thoughtfully Throw In:

Now that's something you got to think about...I mean, Hagrid is only a
half-giant, and he's described as pretty huge. How big are full-breed
giants? And then, for me, the mental image of Hagrid's dad and mom on the
night of his conception starts to boggle my mind...oh, don't take me there.

Melody Then Wrote:

>James: How could I leave out him. Valiant, kind, >compassionate, ready to
>protect his wife and kid, >smart, has that invisibility cloak...hmmm, I
>just can't >remove the thought that he is married thus off the >market.
>Hey I may joke about Black and Lupin under one >roof but marriage, even a
>fictional one, is sacred. >But if I really suspend my reality...

And I Concur:

Have to agree with you on that point...that's why I didn't bring him up.

I Previously Wrote:

>who wonders if there are any men lurking around this >thread and also
>wonders if they think we're all nutcases

To Which Melody Replied:

>We're girls. It is fun to be silly.
>GulPlum tried to bring the guys out in the main group to voice their
>crushed on what few "hot girls" are in >the series. Given the lack of
>responses, it seems they >were too shy. Too bad. They are missing out
>on all the fun.

And I Agree:

Yes, it is a lot of fun. But I don't think there are enough *women* (under
age girls, yes, but not women) to make a "Women of Harry Potter" mag...and
if the men did start a thread along those lines, the same way we are talking
about the guys, I'd imagine a bunch women would start jumping down their
throats, accusing them of being sexist. But that comment right there is
enough to start a whole new thread...

>"D'you think we've got nothing better to do in Potions >than listen to
>Snape?" -Ron

I wouldn't be listening to Snape, either...just ogling him with glazed
eyes....Ah, Snape!

With that in mind...off to work I go!
