I snipped as much of this excellent post as I could while still
preserving one thread of argument by grey wolf, with with I agree.
If no oversight is performed, and posters are left to post as they
please in disregard of the rules, you will not see things settling
down, but a kind of Gresham's Law "Bad money drives good money out
of circulation") for posts. As Grey Wolf mentioned, veterans will
simply not post, and as the percentage of irresponsible posts rises,
ever more of the better-behaved psters will move elsewhere.
