Actually, probably. The words are used interchangeably. -

I don't know, it's more than possible - there are new phrases being 
made up all the time. Tony Blair is rhyming slang for something, but 
I forget what!!

There are several phrases that are in common usage in the UK, not 
just London, eg:

Tea Leaf        : Thief
Butchers (Hook) : Look
Cream crackered : Knackered
