Pre-Ordering From Amazon

I have a few questions about pre-ordering OoP from Amazon.com. I 
read that Amazon will be offering the book at 40% off the retail 
value, which I think is great. I've shoped at Amazon before but 
never pre-ordered anything before. So what I was wondering was this. 
Has anyone here pre-ordered another Harry Potter book from Amazon? 
And if so when did you get your copy? I would really like to know. I 
want my copy on release day, even if I have to stand in line 
overnight. But if I can get it from Amazon with the discount that 
would be even better.
