A resounding "me too" to Ebony's comment. Before I met my husband,
I had several straight male friends. People that I really loved,
who I'd known for years - people that I thought I'd know for ever.
And you know what, since I got married, they've all disappeared. I
caught up with one of them last weekend - he responded to my
Christmas card and called me, and we were on the telephone for over
3 hours, but I still got the feeling that it was a one off. I still
have very close gay male friends, but as for the rest... I still
can't figure out why it happened, but other married friends have
told me that it's always the way.
Why?
I also agree with Elkins' comments. In the past, most of my friends
have been male; I have one very close female friend who I have
known since I started college and that is it. The number of people
I have met and formed friendships with since I joined HPFGU has been
a wonderful experience for me. I love it.
