Missing Messages

Hey, is anyone else not getting all the posts? I have only gotten 4 messages all day and none of them are new. I know people are posting because I've checked my friends mail boxes and they have loads of messages. I've checked my settings and everything looks fine. What gives? And what can I do about it? Help, I want to be in the loop again.
