The EDS corporation (based in Texas) has always been known for
enforcing a strict dress code for its executives. The story goes that
a few years ago, EDS was opening an office in London, and they were
orienting their local new-hires. They were told that the men were
expected to wear suits and ties, and the women must wear dresses or
pants suits. A ladies' suit with slacks instead of a skirt was what
they meant, but imagine the horror on the faces of their female
executives!
