How about the lightning-bolt scar?  The incident in which Harry gets 
it happens about the age children are usually baptised, and it is the 
time he is 'marked' - in accordance with prophecy, no less - as 
special.  Babies get signed on the forehead in the ceremony, after 
all.

Of course, the *closest* parallel to the drowning of the old self and 
coming up new in HP is Voldemort's rebirthing, but a red-eyed snake-
faced design might take quite a bit of explaining...  (though Jesus 
was not above comparing himself with a snake)

Of course baptism is all about sacrifice and faith, if not innocence.
