Are we giving up on keeping quiet while other folk work their way in to the titbit?

There is something "dusty but dignified" about the character she's described which makes me think it might be Prof. Lupin senior. As for major new characters he could be the new DADA professor and/or the half blood prince, or the new minister for magic. I'm going off the last option there because of her response to
"Will Arthur Weasley be the new minister for magic?"
"Alas, no" (from FAQ About the Books on her website"
 
This new character, who seems old, wise and lion like, very similar to Aslan in the Narnia stories, is someone I expect to be "good." I doubt it would be too disappointing if such a fellow were to hold the office.
 
Could be Godic of course, I can see how it would fit, but, unless "he" is in the form of a portrait, that would involve time travel and get on my nerves a bit.

Neither of your guesses matched mine- Godric Gryffindor. The 
comparisons to a lion? The mane, the yellow eyes....
Or perhaps we're both right.. its Godric, the HBP? Yes, that MUST be 
right.
