Carol:
That's what I thought, too--that it's Godric *and* he's the HBP. How
he survives into the late twentieth cantury is another question (I
don't buy the time travel theory, especially for a thousand-year
journey). But the lionlike aspect of the character ties in with the
lion as mascot of Gryffindor House.
