I'm rather new at posting too, although I've been lurking and

(Dina, thanks for your comments on continuing to post these ideas on
OT Chatter. I'm well aware this is a bit half baked and I do find
the main list too polished to contribute to comfortably.)

comment about Sirius not being married and trying to use this to
argue for and against the Remus and Sirius SHIP. While I would
approve of her including a gay couple in a series about tolerance,
given her warnings she made at the same Q and A session to the
assembled young girls about avoiding bad boys I found myself yelling
at the computer:

First of all welcome, Jennie! Please join us for chat some Sunday -
we have lots of fun and are a pretty mellow group. Plus we listen to
what each other has to say and have good discussions.
I couldn't figure out why everyone thought of a Lupin family member.
My very first impression when I read the passage, was Oh! I bet this
is the new DADA teacher! My second thought was this has to be
Alberforth, Dumbledore's brother. For one, the description screams
Gryffindor and the spectacles reminded me of Dumbledore! Again, he
is another character that we have only had the smallest hint of.
Possibly we will find out that DD and his brother were actually a
lot like Fred and George.... Of course, we will probably be all
wrong and this is a totally new character that we haven't seen
before!
Dina, I too appreciate your comments. I posted that I thought the
character might be Alberforth on the main list and got ignored as
usual. After a while it will show up in someone else's post as their
original idea....
Anyway. I will stand by my claim that it is Alberforth till JKR
proves us all wrong!
