Asain_lovr2 (was Asian_lovr, was boybluemn, was bboy_mn, was b_boymn):
I know you are just trying to inject a little humor in an annoying
situation, but Yahoo's unbelievable unreliability is ...well...
unbelieveably frustrating. Especially, since some of the usernames
I've had disappear were bought and paid for.
I used 'boybluemn' in the "... for Grownups" groups for a long long
time, posting many, possibly hundreds of messages that were long and
deep. Then one day the username vanished with no explanation. The
worst part is, not only did the username vanish, but every single post
I ever made in any group under that name also vanished.
I always post in the Web version of the group because I really don't
like my computer cluttered up by thousands of emails. That means that
I didn't archive any of the posts I made, some of which were more like
essays than comments. I alway assumed the posts would be on-line in
the group and available to search out. But they vanished. Thanks Yahoo.
That was a paid username and email account.
I started using that 'boybluemn' name because my previous 'asian_lovr'
username had vanished.
After, boybluemn, I switched to bboy_mn and had that for a long long
long time, and made many hundreds of posts. It was also a paid email
account. Fortunately, when it vanished, all my posts didn't vanish
with it.
Then I used asian_lovr2, which is my back-up account, and took out the
name 'b_boymn' on July 2004. Once I was past my moderation period, I
started using it, signing in daily, reading, posting and checking the
email. I never emailed anyone who didn't email me first. I was only
signed up for 5 groups. And I certainly find it hard to believe that I
violated any 'terms of service' rules. But it's gone, and there is
nothing I can do about it. Yahoo doesn't allow any appeals or offer
any explanations, and no refunds.
If the best groups weren't on Yahoo, I wouldn't use it at all. After
this last username barely making it a month, I don't see any reason
why I would ever pay for a Yahoo email account again. Yahoo really
doesn't provide me with much incentive to do business with them.
Thanks for letting me rant.
Steve
