Hi Steve (& All),
Oh dear, I do feel for you on this. It's a very sobering tale of how
unreliable Yahoomort can be. It is also worrying that it's happened
so often to you, and very very worrying that it happened to paid
accounts too. It's a shame we don't have anyone `on the inside'. If
I ever do meet anyone who works for Yahoo Groups I'll do my best to
convert them to HP adult fandom.

There are archives of posts so don't give up hope of your favourite
essays resurfacing.
I'm also confused by your reasoning here. I think (though I may well
be wrong) that one can set one's membership to "Special notices"
or "No email", thus receive no or few email from the list, use the
web view for reading the list, and still post from an email client
using the email address in your membership profile. That way you'd
not clutter your mail tool's inbox, but you would be keeping your
own copy of the emails you send to the list. What you'd loose is
some threading, since Yahoo would not realize that some of your
posts were replies, but that may be a small price to pay.
At least, that's how I think it works.
Cheers,
Dumbledad.
