Becki wonders, not that it really matters;
The quote at Mugglenet from the article-interview of Nair says;
"I read it over the weekend. I'm still deciding... I'm not letting
all this go to my head. I'm grounded. I practise detachment, it
helps me keep my balance." ... "I'm a Dilliwalli, only an asana
gets me on my head! My son Zoharan's excited. I've seen all the
Harry
Potter movies with him."
My question is, how could she be reading it. I thought Steve Kloves
was 'on the fence' about writing OotP. Even if he has decided to
do it, he couldn't possibly finished it in a matter of weeks.
Perhaps she is just reading the book?

Asian_lovr2:
I'm just venturing a guess, but maybe she meant she was reading
Harry
Potter over the weekend, not specifically reading OotP.
I find it unusual that they aren't going with mainstream Hollywood
directors. On one hand it could just be daring movie making, on the
other, it could just be an attempt to get indie directors who will
work cheap.
I seriously doubt that there is enough of a manuscript available for
anyone but the publishers to evaluate. Although, I also expect that
JKR is getting close. She is pregnant again, but say it won't
interfer with the book. No matter how many nannies she can afford, a
new baby
in the house WILL interfer. That makes me suspect she intends to
the book done before she delivers. It may not be on the store
shelves,
but I suspect the bulk of it will be in the hands of the publisher. I
just can't see anyway that having a new baby won't slow things down.
Just a thought.

Becki's back;
I agree with you Steve on the directors. I do find it odd that they
would even approach someone without a screenplay in hand. Perhaps
they are just approaching directors to see who may be available and
interested. I wonder if Mike Newell has already declined. I seem to
remember hearing that Curan waited to declined GoF until almost of
the end of shooting. And now that I mentioned Curan, what about
him? Since he already has the repore with the cast, and he was so
successful with PoA, why wouldn't he want to do it? I am not so
sure about having a woman director. Would it add too much of
a "soft touch" to a movie that should be anything else but?
(not to sound sexist, I am a girl after all...)
I guess as long as it does justice to the Weasley Twins' "exit",
and the hospital scene with Molly getting educated about
what "stitches" are, I'm alright with whoever the director is.
And as far as the HBP goes, I hope your right. I was disapointed to
hear at Edinburgh that she was only halfway finished. But if you
think of it, organizing it would be the long, hard part. Putting it
all together by actually writing it, may be the easy, and hopefully
fastest part.
Unfortunatly for us, with the release of the OotP in paperback, the
publishers have enough to keep themselves satisfied for awhile.
Not even considering the mental states of all of us
potterheadmaniacs who are grasping to every clue she gives us in
hopes of yet another theory.
OK..Becki will stop rambling on now and go pick her garden...
