Lots of good suggestions so far. Some that I haven't
seen are film, batteries (for all those battery-eating
devices), disposable camera and pocket-sized album to
put the photos in. Tools of the trade, or sport or
whatever - golf tees or balls, mousepad, screen-wipes,
fancy pens and pencils, streamers for their bike
hanlde bars (if they are of an age to appreciate
that), a tire patch kit if they are older, gloves,
stocking caps if they are into outdoor winter sports
(if they are younger, stuff with their favorite
cartoon character can be a hit.)
The old standby - coupons good for a trip to the
movies or the zoo or the art museum or a concert -
basically promisory notes that say you will do
something they want to do. My son (still, at 18)
loves to play board games with us, and regards it as a
special treat if we all get together and make time to
play one of his favorites.
Ornaments on a theme they like - one or two a year,
given with the understanding that these are THEIR
ornaments. They get to hang them up, they will get to
keep them when the are all grown up...
I love stockings, can you tell?
Sue
