I have in front of me eight T Rex and Marc Bolan CDs (easier to find
than the original {and better} vinyls. In no particular order there
are several different magical points and ideas that could be applied
to the potterverse (I don't like that term, not nearly magical
enough...)
First a quote from the late John Peel...
"Tyrannosaurus Rex rose out of the sad and scattered leaves of an
older summer. During the hard, grey winter they were tended and
strengthened by those who love them. They blossomed with the coming
of spring, children rejoiced and the earth sang with them. It will
be a long and ecstatic summer."
Songs include:-
"Dwarfish Trumpet Blues"
"King of the Mountain Cometh" (Giants?)
"She was born to be my Unicorn" (the unicorn is obviously special)
"Cat Black (The Wizard's Hat)"
"Warlord of the Royal Crocodiles" (this has to be magical right?)
"Ride a White Swan" (as previously mentioned as Cho's patronas)
"The Wizard"
"King of the Rumbling Spires" (it sounds magical to me)
"By the light of the magical moon"
"Pictures of purple people" (wizards?)
"A beard of stars" (Dumbledore should have a beard of stars)
"Dragon's ear"
"Eastern Spell"
"Rings of fortune" (more LOTR maybe)
and the best title for an album ever is...
"My people were fair and had sky in their hair...But now they're
content to wear stars in their brows."
There are loads of references I could find...maybe it was just the
way of the hippies in the late sixties and early seventies...but I
just love finding links!
