Wow!  It's so funny to hear that come from someone other than  myself!!!  I 
am a Christian
and have been since I was 7!  I would never read these books if I  thought 
they were "down on God" its makebelieve!!!  It's not like JKR  is writing to 
"teach" kids to be witches or wizards or anything, it's just a  story and a 
wonderful one at that!  I've never heard any one object to Snow  White and the 7 
dawarfs because the witch is casting spells to poison an apple  and kill 
someone!  I think that some people are too quick to judge things  based on limited 
information.  They hear that the Harry attends  Hogwarts School of Witchcraft 
and Wizardry... and thats pretty much all it takes  for it to be "evil".
