I thought the juxtaposition of 17 and 18 was inspired:

"17 Go and see the locusts. 2004 is the year that the 17-year locust 
emerges across the United States. Millions of them - they're 
actually a type of cicada - will make a loud, creepy buzzing sound 
all summer, breed, and then disappear for another 17 years. 

18 Monitor the US elections. The American presidential election is 
scheduled for November 2. Why not spend the week in Florida, soaking 
up the sun, seeing the sights and ensuring that no large boxes of 
uncounted votes go missing?"
