I guess that for the wizarding world, there are other considerations 
than the effect of reading a book.  Tom Riddle's diary and the 
Monster Book of Monsters show that their books don't only act on the 
mind.

This does suggest an idea for an icon for your blog or 
website: "Don't burn books... stab them with a basilisk fang".
