As a professional copyeditor, I was delighted to discover this article
on what an editor does in the online edition of the New York Times.
Although the author is talking about editing the OpEd page of a major
newspaper (Op Ed meaning that it's opposite the editorial page; it
reflects readers' opinions rather than those of the editorial staff),
much of what the writer says about editing is applicable to the HP
books (or any other published work).
