I'm pretty disappointed, too. Personally, I'd love it if a rebellious Web-Elf
 slipped us a photo of some notes of JKR, with the notation "SNAPE 
IS INNOCENT!" among them. That'd guarantee a happy holidays here! :P

My guess would be one of these:

1.) Poor woman's exhausted from finishing HBP, doing work for the 
movies (promotion, maybe script reviews for OoTP)--and let's not
 forget she's got a baby in the household, too;

2.) Everytime she "talks," she drops hints and possibly commits 
herself to various points. She may be afraid of speaking a lot 
w/o having Book 7 very clearly outlined, in the event she changes
her mind about something in the text.
