Ok, can someone in Australia help me out? I'd love to make
some "Crunchy Munchy Honey Cakes" as suggested by The Wiggles, but I
don't rightly know what Muesli flakes are. Would corn flakes be an
equivalent, or am I needing something more oatmeal-ish?

Thanks!

and Steve replied:

The most popular brand of true muesli in the USA, and also available
nearly everywhere in the world, is Familia Brand ...

It consists of ....

Oat flakes, wheat flakes, barley flakes, dried raisins, shredded whole
wheat and rye, hazelnuts, dates, apples, bananas, almonds.

now pam says:

Familia is a very popular and common brand. My husband ate it for breakfast everyday for years (yeech). You should be able to find it in any supermarket; if not in the cereal aisle, you might have to look in the gourmet or international food aisle. Stores like Whole Foods also sell many different brands, some cheaper than Familia, which can be on the pricey side.

As for the butter issue: a stick of butter (4oz) is 113 g. So 125g of butter is roughly 11/8th stick or 1 stick plus two tablespoons.
Nice to see there is another parent out there in Wiggle land. We (the kids and me) made the crunchy munchy recipe; the results were interesting. I'd like to hear how your kids like them.

BTW, to Steve:

The Wiggles are an Austrailian musical act for children. They are 4 guys in their late 30's/early 40's (Greg Page, Anthony Field, Murray Cook and Jeff Fatt) who sing vaugely educational very catchy songs for the pre-school set. Crucnhy-Munchy Honeycakes is one of their songs ("they're great to eat and they're fun to make..in your hand or on a plate, crunchy, munchy honeycakes"). You can find out more than you ever wanted to know about them at www.thewiggles.com . Between the TV shows, cd's dvd's and live shows, they make money hand-over-fist. My husband and I joke that we should just send half our monthly income directly to them--it would be cheaper.
