I know you won't believe it right now, but you'll be so glad to get
it done! The jitters beforehand, IMHO, are worse than the
procedure.
I've had about 4 or 5 root canals over my life (nice teeth, I know).
The last one I had I was actually begging for because I was in
horrible, horrible pain. Yeah, it feels weird having someone go that
far down into your jaw (!), but the novacaine makes it easier.
Have they described to you what they're going to do? Sometimes if
you know what they are actually doing helps, since you don't feel
so "lost". The first time I had one done no one told me what was
going on and I kept seeing these strange instruments all around my
head and I felt like I was strapped to a medieval torture device or
something! Now I'm something of an old pro at 'em (unfortunately).
Let us know how it goes - I wish you lotsa luck (you'll be fine!).
Amy :)
(Maybe ask for a nice Cheering Charm, then you can laugh your way
through it...)
