I have said this before, I like the film PoA as a film in its own
right, but having just watched it again this evening, it's beginning
to annoy me more and more in terms of missing out vital bits of the
book. Its been discussed to death, but missing out the padfoot,
prongs, moontail and moony info is just daft (how are they going to
explain it later?),and the scene in Madame Rosemerta's upstairs
room...You know, Peter pettigrew, that small, rat like boy who used
to hang round with James and Sirius...Duh!! Credit the audience with
a little intelligence...there are much more subtle ways of condensing
the story.
GoF is a long book with a lot of story in it, and, of course, all of
it isn't going to fit into a 2 hour film, some stuff will have to be
cut out...but Molly? Isn't she integral? Aren't the Dursleys for
that matter? Does JKR have as much input now? What does she say?
