I ordered mine from a 24-hour grocery store by my house. I'm not 
really into the big "event" thing, I think mainly because I was too 
excited about reading the book to want to get hung up with other fans 
(perhaps for one of the movies I could handle an event, but those 
aren't as exciting as a new book). At around midnight I walked down 
there, picked up the book and went right home, it was real quick, and 
they had it on sale for $17.99, so it wasn't more expensive than 
getting it from Amazon (which I did with Order of the Phoenix). I 
wasn't the only one getting the book from the store, I saw two other 
people come to pick one up in the five minutes I was there. The 
checker (just one at that time of night), was asking everyone he 
checked out if they were getting a book, and it appeared everyone was 
(no crowd or anything though, hardly more customers than they usually 
do at midnight).
