and in ch. 19 (POA) first page, 
Snape explains: 'You forgot to take your Potion tonight, so I took a 
gobletful along'

I understood this, together with the other text bits, as an 
indication of once a day (preferably evening) for 7 days prior to a 
full moon, but it is not exactly described.
