So we have three covers. The UK children's version shows Harry and
Dumbledore surrounded by swirls of fire that appear to be coming
from DD's wand. My immediate impression was that they're defending
themselves. Though it's rather *feathery* fire, isn't it? For
example compared to the dragon fire on the UK cover of GoF. Has
anyone suggested that Fawkes might be the HBP?

The US version shows Harry and Dumbledore looking into a pensieve,
Harry with his wand ready. The question is, whose memories are in
the pensieve? Harry's memories from Godric's Hollow? Or perhaps some
more of Snape's? Aha - no! I have it: The brain which attacked Ron
in the brain room of the DoM is the brain of the Half-blood Prince,
which leaves some memories in Ron, so the memories in the pensieve
are from Ron's head, but actually happened to a completely different
person.

Then we have a Potions textbook. Hmm. Not sure we can glean a lot
from that, though it could at least be an indication that Harry's
not giving up Potions. Not that many thought he would be.

Oh #!@$, this is awful. I'm not going to be able to sleep...
