Harry Potter crafters, please read!

Hi!
As some of you might be aware by now, last week I gave an interview
about Harry Potter crafts and my Harry Potter Crafts group
(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HarryPotterCrafts/) that has appeared
on Pottercast #33 this week. Since then the group has grown a lot,
and I am very happy about it. But there is more to it than that.

Melissa Anelli, webmistress and head editor of The Leaky Cauldron
(www.leakynews.com) e-mailed me this week to ask me to create a full
Harry Potter Crafts section on her website. And of course, I agreed
to do it on the spot.

But of course, I can't be expected to conjure up 25,000 crafts
tutorials (not that I think I'll put up that many, but still!). And
so that's where you can come in. I am looking for patterns,
tutorials and pictures!

As you all know, there are a bunch of tutorial already available on
the net. But rather than posting a bunch of link (like what we do
here in the links section), the tutorials and patterns will be
featured directly on The Leaky Cauldron, for better visibility! A
link will also be added to the original website the pattern comes
from (if you have one), and your name will be mentionned as the
author. I'm looking for ALL types of Potter-related patterns: robes,
cloaks, hats, wands, boxes, trunks, EVERYTHING!

Now here is what you have to know:
~ Patterns/tutorials have to complete and clear. Make sure a 5 years
old can understand them easily (or almost!). Write a detailed
supplies list first (make sure to include quantity, company names,
colours/colour numbers whenever possible), then detailed step-by-
step instructions. If you can, add photos to accompany each step (if
you are sending me the pictures as attachements, simply write, for
example, ADD PICTURE1.JPG in the text and I will understand.
~ Your patterns/tutorials need to be written in plain English. No
netspeak. Write them as if they were going to be published... as
they will be, afterall!
~ Pictures must be renamed! The name of your picture will be
considered the name you want for its description, followed by your
own name, with caps for every new word (for example
DumbledoreDollJosée.jpg). If I get a bunch of pic3204.bmp, I will
rename them without consulting you... but better you than me!
~ When you send your things, make sure to also mention your name (as
the author of the tutorial or the person featured in the picture),
and the URL of the website where we can find the tutorial you sent
(NOT YOUR PERSONAL WEBSITE!), if there is one.

Everyone can participate to this. If you made something Potterish,
you can submit it for the crafts section. And as The Leaky Cauldron
gets between 70,000 and 1,000,000 hits a month, this will
undoubtedly increase visibility for your website. And if you don't
have a website, you will be featured as a great Harry Potter crafter!

Please send your submission(s) to harrypottercrafts at gmail.com as
soon as possible please, so I can get to work. ;) I will be
contacting some of you personally over the next few weeks, so don't
be surprise if you have an e-mail from me waiting in your mailbox!

Oh! And though this new addition to the Leaky Cauldron does not have
to remain top secret, it is still under construction, and so not
everyone needs to know about it. So I'm telling you, but don't tell
anyone... unless they have crafted something Potterish, of course!

I hope you will all fill my inbox soon!

Josée
