[HPFGU-OTChatter] McAfee is NOT my friend

Poor Sue!
Well, I always discourage people from getting either McAfee or Norton
because both or tricky, both are resource-heavy, both are a pain in the
royal but!
Frisk Software is the way to go, as far as I'm concerned. F-Prot has been
my friend, buddy, guardian and savior more times than I can count. It's not
overly expensive, doesn't over-extend your machine and slow it to a crawl,
has a real-time protection and just works quietly and efficiently.
I gave up McAfee because it proved to be getting inaccessible for those of
us with screen-readers and had turned, for a time, to ETrust. At first, I
thought this was really great, then Computer Associates bought it, it became
inaccessible, it let through some of the worst Bagel and My Doom viruses
which cause me to have to restore both my machine and Art's brand new one
three times in one month! I switched back to F-Prot,which had been my
friend in my DOS days, and have not had a problem in four years. It caught
several things, killed them, kept me and Art safe.
I think it's something like $30 US and worth a lot more for the peace of
mind and lack of system crawl.
Cheers,
Lee :-)
