2beagles:

I would like to throw in "The Sparrow," and "Children of God," in
that
order. Both written by Mary Doria Russell. They are about a group
of
Jesuit missionaries who hop on a asteroid to another planet. Sounds
a
little "out there," but they are excellent books, especially the
first
one. It is SciFi with a mixed with a little Theology. The author
is
very thorough in the details of another world. And the story is
great
too. She apparently has a new book out that is not a follow up to
the
first two, but I'm still looking forward to reading it.
I'm about to start reading "Gilead." I've been into the Historical
fiction genre in between HP books and have heard good things about
it.
