Check out this web site, and look under potter parties on the left.

There are very detailed parties with many recipes and instructions on
decorations, games and invitations for adult Harry Potter Parties.

There are also many pictures of the different decoration and how to make
them, and tons of pictures of the many, many food items.

Have a great time, I wish I was in your area.

Thank you so much! I hadn't looked at the Potter Parties link in a very long
time and there is so much more there now! There are a lot of ideas I can
incorporate too. I have a blackboard I can use for Transfiguration (it currently
lets people know that it is the 12th Day of Christmas). I have a pack of
green pens and a bag of feathers I can turn into quills.

Making magic books is certainly easy plus I already have a box of books and
bottles I use to decorate for Halloween (for example, I remove the labels from
bottles of cranberry juice and replace them with one that say "Dragon's
Heart Blood." Apple juice becomes "Acromantula Venom," etc. There are canning
jars filled with large plastic lizard tails, plastic bones, etc, and
appropriately labeled too. Hmm, I'd better bring out all the skeletons too. Those are
mostly models such as The Visible Woman, the Visible Horse, Bat, etc.

On the inside of one of my kitchen cupboards is a sign that I made that
hangs year-round: Madame Pomfrey says "A clean cauldron keeps a potion from
becoming a poison." It has a small picture of Madame Pomfrey on it too. Not
strictly true as that sign was in the hospital but I am sure Madam Pomfrey agrees.
I'd like to make up more signs like that, both for our school nurse, who is a
HP fan, but for me too! Any ideas would be appreciated.

I've been wanting to sponge paint a stone wall pattern on my living room
wall for some time now. I wonder if I could get it done before the party? Hmm....
