Leeann Now:
Yes, we do indeed use Potter speak. You are not alone. I am quite often
heard saying things like, "Accio car keys", "Reparo" to a broken glass or
"Scourgify (sp?" to my soap-scummy bath tub. Why just the other day my 11
year old son was on a verbal rant, telling me that I never listen to him and
don't understand anything when I calmly pointed at him and said, "Langlock".
It worked. He rolled his eyes, shook his head side to side and walked away.
I also use expressions like, "The cat's among the pixies" or "No use crying
over spilled potion".
Not only is it fun (for me anyway), but I often find it works well to break
tension, calm nerves or when I just want to torture my children. They call
me "Harry Potter obsessed".
BTW, we got HP Scene-it for christmas. We have played twice and I have lost
both times. I don't think I will ever get over it!
