bboyminn:
The entire word is a combination of common roots -
Meta
That's pretty straight forward if you use a short 'e'; meta not meeta.
Morph
pronounced 'morf' and from metamorphosis and
Magus
Now here is the tricky part, the root 'magi' comes from and is
pronounced like 'magic' or phonetically 'may-ji', though I and others
tend to say 'mah-ji' which has a less long 'a' similar to the normal
prononcuation of 'magic' However, 'magus' is pronounced with a 'g'
instead of a 'j' sound. So, 'magus' is pronounced 'may-gus'. Though
much like 'magic', I would personally use an 'a' sound somewhere
between a long and a short.
Probably the closest correct version would be -
Met-ta morf may guss
I pronounce it closer to -
Met-ta morf mag (as in magnesium) us
But then that's just me.
