Current Yahoo Changes - Comment

Regarding the current changes to Yahoo, generally I don't have a
problem with them, and I welcome the change to the number of posts
that are shown below a given post. Before, no matter how many post or
how long a thread was, they only showed NINE. Now they show generally
the whole thread below a given post, so you can move up and down the
thread from there.

Just one problems, the thread listed below a post is always in
threaded-format. Which means the posts are nested under the post to
which they are repling.

Example, if someone responds to the orginal poster, the left margin of
the thread list is uniformly to the left. If I respond and then
someone replies to me and then someone replies to them, in that case,
each post will be indented one step farther to the right. Non-threaded
posts are simply in chronological order.

That's just an explanation, here is the problem. Never in Yahoo's
history have Threaded and Unthreaded lists been in sync. If I view
several posts in Threaded mode, then switch to Unthreaded mode, the
link color on viewed posts doesn't change. On my computer using the
current group color scheme, UNRead message links are Blue, READ links
are a sort of maroon or dark purplish lavender color.

Seeing this color change makes it very easy to keep track of what I
have and haven't read when I first come the the Main Message List.
Because threaded and unthreaded are never in sync, if I read posts by
selecting them from the threaded thread appearing under a given post,
those read post will not show up as Read when I go back to the main
message list. Consequently, it is nearly impossible to keep track of
what I have and haven't read.

I can get used to the threaded list under a post because now they can
be quite long, I counted 30 under a post last night. However, I would
still prefer that it were chronologcial rather than threaded. None the
less, I like the idea that the whole thread is there, but I hate the
fact that it completely messed up the Read/Unread list in the Main
Message list.

That may have been a little convoluted, but hopefully you understand
my problem.
