That is definitely a bizarre mention.  Though there is a bizarre mention in my own wannabe novel (which I swear I'll write more then the first chapter and outline...one day).

One of the passwords of the scientists in the genetics lab...is Voldemort.  Considering this is fifty or so years into our future, it's a pretty obscure password to use.

Harry Potter has just influence our world in unique ways.
