{g} I'm all for Lex/Lana (or Lexana, which sounds like something out
of a sci-fi flick) because Clark/Lana (or Clana, which reminds me of
an STD) is so redundant that even TPTB wrote in a line referencing the
Clark'n'Lana "rollercoaster". It's like they keep saying they're
'done', they've 'broken up', and a couple episodes later they're back
together, only to 'break-up' by the end of the episode. It's worse
than a bad soap opera, it's worse than a bad Lifetime movie.

And then there's some who wonder what would Lex Luthor see in Lana
Lang (other than initials matching) because she's a twit, and I
advocate look at Lex's interest in Clark--Smallville DVDs and at least
one interview I remember on TVGuide reference UST subtext. Lex likes
'eye candy' twits. ;-)

I read this rumour, which might be confirmed by now, awhile back
referencing additional snogging between Lex and Lana in an upcoming
episode... and Tom Welling is directing that episode. Various folk
were kinda amused because it's usually Welling making out with Kristin
Kreuk in scenes and now he's directing Rosenbaum to put the moves on
Kreuk.

However, my favorite het pairing this season would have to be Lionel
Luthor and Martha Kent. One of those 'trainwrecks' that's actually
interesting. I forgot if I already referenced this here but it'd
actually make sense the rift between Clark and Lex being additionally
strained by Lionel's actions of bringing in the Kents as his 'family'
and alienating (no pun intended) his own son, Lex. There's already
reference to Lionel knowing Clark's 'secret' and Jor-El possessing
Lionel's body... though, Lionel possessed Clark's body--w00t,
pseudo-incest! {snort}

In one scene, where Welling is playing Luthor, he's checking out his
impressive new body and he looks inside his pants to check out the
package. Was Glover responsible for that bit of direction?

He laughs.

Because that's the first thing this writer would do if he found
himself in Tom Welling's body.

"Of course," Glover offers up willingly. "I think it was in the
script, though. I think it was. But Michael [Rosenbaum] and I, last
year when I had a scene where I was having a massage and Michael came
in, we worked out a father/son thing where I stood up and was sort of
putting my bathrobe on where he looked down and checked out his dad's
package. That didn't make it to the final cut."

The whole Glover interview is an interesting read. He seems like a
very nice guy.

I'd have to say I would miss John Glover as Lionel Luthor, if TPTB
decided to do any cast shuffling involving supporting cast.
