Chancie (the person who posted the baby name poll link):

I didn't find your post rude, I actually found it amusing!
As others have said, this is Off-Topic Chatter, meaning that
anything not containing cannon on HP is allowed here, (with
in reason as Dizzy the list elf mentioned previously) since
it doesn't belong on the main list. I'm sorry if my asking for
baby name help some how offended you, but anyone who's
had a child can tell you that finding a name is an extremely
hard job! Perhaps in the future it would be wise for you to
simply delete the topics that you have no interest in reading,
and allow the list elves to decide if a certain topic is acceptable
or not then you won't have to be annoyed with those of us
who are posting frivolous topics. And please don't take that
as any type of insult or anything, I have in the past done that
same thing on the main list when I find a particular thread silly,
or something I'm simply uninterested in. Why let yourself be
annoyed? Or if it's just the OT threads that are bothering you,
maybe it would be better if you just avoided this section of
the site, since it's very likely that you'll see more and more
"non-related topics" as time goes on.
