pengolodh_sc/Christian:
I just realised why the settings don't stick - as I just encountered
it suddenly not sticking for me, and managed to replicate how it
happened.
After having changed the sorting of the messages to show the newest
messages at the bottom, when I come back to the group some other day
and go to the message-listing by following the link in the left-hand
menu, it preserves my setting, showing the newest messages at the
bottom of the list.
But if I'm reading a message, and then click on "Message List" on the
upper right to go to the listing of messages, it resets my settings
to Yahoo's default, with the newest message at top. If I first go to
"Home" in the lefthand menu, and then to "Messages", my chosen
settings are retained however.
Back when Yahoo had taken over eGroups and was preparing to merge
eGroups and Yahoo!Clubs, I wrote (using another e-mail at the time,
top-posting and not snipping at all) the following in message #11006
on the main list:
"We are Yahoo!
Your existence as you know it has come to an end.
Your cultural and technical distinctiveness will be adapted to
service .. us.
*You* will service .. us.
Prepare to be assimilated.
To resist is futile.
We are Yahoo!"
This seems to still apply.
