One of my most favorite activities at parties is always that they
give prizes aways for correct answers to trivia questions--questions
that deal with MORE than POTTER books!!! They ask questions about
childrens, young-adult and Adult books...
Raffle tickets go a long way to kill time as well...
Of course the given costume contest..
a special prize for someone who brings in the best replica of
a "pensive" (prizes for different age categories)
create a potter crossword..
Best knitted or crocheted creation inspired by molly weasley.
Best essay--topic: "how to keep the perfect Petunia kitchen"
Give a special prize for the person(s) who submit a question that no
one knows the answer to at the time said question is asked--with all
questions being chosen from each respective box at random.
A best "reading competition"....(one reader per 50 mins...all ballots
turned in within the hour)..
Best Hippogriff/horntail tatoo contest--only paper applications
accepted..(all folks vote winner announced later)
DD epitaph contest--we wanna hear more than what the man in the black
suit said...(i.e. DD's idea of a "few words"..., what would hagrid
have said?(Flitwick? McConagal? Errol? Vernon? Petunia?etc...)
D.Umbrige MOM sentencing statement by the high council..We the high
council sentence you D.Umbridge to ___ at ___ because____ etc...
Creations of "Snape's weekly Menu's" (he doesn't strike me as an
ultimate omlette/big mac type of guy...but something bland and in
between...)(or any other adult character menus for that matter..the
only ones we get a hint of are Dumbledore, Hagrid, and McConagal..).
Of course a cooking/baking contest is something else.
If you must do a costume contest make it a best Muggle contest! LOL a
great way to get the non fan that accompanies their poor afflicted
potterite friend. LOL
Another would be to have a little table or two outside and have a tea
leaf reading "booth(s)" to happen before sunset...would be great fun!
I could go on and on..LOL
Let me know if you're stuck or if none of my idea's are tangible...I
have plenty more...You'd be surprised who will show..
DD
(who feels really bad that she won a costume contest as professor
Sinastra but who is really happy that the $200 hat she bought years
ago won her a $500 gift!--which I did donate it to my daughters
school for books.)
