YEAH!! Parties! My local Waldenbooks, where I always attended the parties, has just closed, so I am going to have to go to Hastings (ick)! But I loved the "Sorting Into Houses" that they did (Slytherin here), of course Trivia, costume contests, "What Got You Into HP As An Adult" would be a nice thing...reading the first chapter aloud before leaving, then having a discussion would be good, if you COULD keep anyone there with "The Book" in their hot little hands! Maybe just a general discussion before the release.

Hi everyone! I'm Laura, and it's been a very long time since I posted
here-long enough that it's probably a whole new group now. I'm posting
here and a couple of other select sites to seek advice about release
parties from hard-core adult fans. I work at a Barnes and Noble in
Pittsburgh, and we're gearing up for our party. I'm trying to get adult
activities organized, since I know that there were at least as many
older teens and adults at the last release as there were kids. My
questions to you are:
If you've attended release parties before, as a planner, worker or
customer, what worked for you and what didn't? What would you do again,
what would you do differently and what would you eliminate altogether?
If you had unlimited space and budget, what would you like to have at
your party?
Are you planning anything particular to book 7?
Thanks so much in advance for your input, and if you're in Pittsburgh on
July 20, come on by-we'll have the best party in town!
Laura
