Well I just had a thought...

It was great to attend in person--not so much because of the "cast" but
because there are folks who adore the series in the audience from such different
walks of life...most of whom are ready and willing to talk about the books.
The reason they have their "five questions" is because everyone has a different
theory which may be similar to another's but has a different nuance that can
really only be explained face to face.
...
Anyhoo, go and sit in the front row, and speak up...especially if you have a
niggling question or comment.(there were a wide range of ages there...from 2
to 70+, although the adults did let the kids compete in the competitive
quizes).)

Thanks so much, DD! That was just what I needed to hear. I am so looking
forward to it. I don't live in a major city but there must be lots of HP fans
here. Last night I got to see Harry and the Potters. Last week, it was The Remus
Lupins and the Parselmouths. Because of the book and the movie, I knew July
was going to be an HP month for me but I did not expect this wealth of live
HP activity!

I brought my small cauldron with me to the last two events and filled it
with over-wrapped candies and buttons that I give away to the kids and adults.
Last night I passed out "Devilmints" from Weasley Wizard Wheezes" (if you are
witch or wizard, they cause you to sprout horns. Does not work on Muggles.)
and Drooble's Best Blowing Gum (with the note on the label "Safe to use, NOT
affiliated with Weasley Wizard Wheezes."). I also passed out "Weasley is our
King" buttons.

On so many levels, last night was a blast. Harry and the Potters did a great
show. It was a tiny room and they were often in with the audience. About 2/3
of the audience was teen/early 20 girls. There were a few younger kids and
the back of the room was mostly boys. There were only a few of us over-50 fans
but we rocked along with the rest.

The show with the Remus Lupins and the Parselmouths had a much more mixed
audience. Lots of little kids for the Parselmouths. Many of them left when RL
started and were replaced by teens and adults. I felt like I'd used a
time-turner to take me back 35 years.

I bought the set of Harry and the Potters/Pottercast tour buttons and plan
to wear them to Pottercast.

---Mary, enjoying life, even if she is a muggle
